The word is blather. Pronounced \BLATH-er\. This word is a verb, and is defined as
To utter or talk foolishly.
Used in a sentence: As Job began to suffer by the hands of the Enemy, his wife began to blather in his ear that he should curse God and die.
(Job ch. 2: vs. 7-10)
As the nation deals with the tragic events in Boston, there has been many different commentaries written and expressed on television, radio, and the Internet. One that caught my attention the most is an article floating around titled ‘Sympathy for the devil…’ which talks about a twitter group focusing on the innocence of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
While the innocence of this person is not my focus, what is is the association of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev with the ‘Devil’. It does not surprise me of the delusional tactics of the media to further spread fear and hatred where fear and hatred are already at an all time high, yet there is NO comparison with this young man and the Enemy because
· The Enemy is not scared of the police.
· The Enemy is not influenced by the opinions of man.
· The Enemy does NOT need nor want to hide its face or hands. Since men do not believe in its existence, it doesn’t have to.
· The Enemy does not just want to kill us… its goal is to eliminate ALL that God has done.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been greatly influenced by the Enemy in order to continue to build confusion, fear, and doubt of God and our Lord Jesus Christ; he is far from being the ‘devil’.
Do not lose sight of the TRUE terrorist.
When you forget the reasons why you still hang on to those things in your life that seem to have gone out of control; remember Christ.
Happy Mother’s Day!
I do not celebrate Mother’s Day for obvious reasons, yet I respect and pray for all those women out there who are doing their best as mothers not just today, but everyday they live. I know it can get rough and even discouraging at times, yet you press on through it, and that deserves respect from all of us who have been and still are sons and daughters.
I say God bless you moms out there, and if you happen to have a mom still with you… make sure she knows that she is greatly loved and appreciated today.
The word is logomachy. Pronounced \loh-GOM-uh-kee\. It is a noun and is defined as
An argument or debate marked by the reckless or incorrect use of words; meaningless battle of words.
Used in a sentence: The Enemy has continuously used the strategy of logomachy through disguised cultism that target the people of God by trying to infuse doubt and confusion.
(Jeremiah ch. 14: v. 14)
I’m praying for you.
Take a moment to remember many of the stories we have seen in movies, television, and on the Internet that talk about events of the past or current events that have dealt with the loss of loved ones.
The media will exploit the sorrows and pain of people for only a fleeting moment until the next ‘big story’ occurs, and then it’s almost like it never happened, but it did and those that were directly impacted by it still feel the sting.
There are so many to list that are just afterthoughts to this ‘great‘ nation, yet I ask those of you to say a prayer for the people who still live with them day by day. It doesn’t matter which story comes to mind…
FaceBook has greatly exploited the term ‘friend‘. In this age, this term which at a time established an intimate and long lasting connection between two people is now nothing but a mouse press. There are many of us that have hundreds of profiles listed as ‘friends‘, yet MAY actually know less than 10% of those listed, and I’m being VERY generous with the percentage.
One of the definitions of ‘friend‘ that I believe the FaceBook development team used at the beginning is ‘a member of the same nation, party, etc….’ The definition that I THOUGHT represented friend is ‘a person attached to another by personal feelings, affections, or regard.’ It has even been defined in the verb sense as ‘to add (a person) to one’s list of contacts on a social-networking Web site:’.
There are those of us who still follow the precept that a friend is someone who through trial, time, ups and downs, laughter, arguments, agreements, disagreements, respect, love and trust earns the title in our lives.
What scares me is that the new generations that are growing up in the social media era will think that all it takes to be a ‘friend’ is a mouse click, modified pictures, posted lies about ones ‘status’, murdered English, OMG’s LOL’s’ LMS’s, ‘I LIKE JESUS‘ postings and virtual ‘LIKES‘ about various subjects.
Its just amazing to me what people will accept in order to be accepted.
